Hashes

Notice that when I introduced arrays I described them as "sequences of scalars" but when introducing hashes I said they "hold pairs of scalars."

Arrays preserve the order of assignment.  Always.

Sequence is important when assigning to hashes, but the items are not stored sequentially.
