Iteration

Both arrays and hashes can be said to be "containers," that is, they contain other scalars.  Most containers have the ability to enumerate their contents one after the other:

    for $element (@bar) {
        # $element is 4, then "cat"
    }

    for $key (keys %baz) {
        # $key is in random order.
    }
